If you smoke or use tobacco products, quitting can be one of the most valuable steps you can take for your oral health.
Even if your gums don’t currently hurt, tobacco use can increase your risk of serious periodontal problems.
8. Keep Regular Dental Appointments
This is perhaps the most important step that home care cannot replace.
A dentist or dental hygienist can identify plaque and tartar buildup that cannot be removed effectively with ordinary brushing. Professional cleaning and appropriate treatment can help prevent mild gum inflammation from progressing.
