After returning home from a 9-month deployment, I found all my belongings stuffed into trash bags inside my own house

Lauren’s brother had been paying no rent.

Instead, Lauren had been telling people that the house would eventually belong to her.

Apparently, she had already started making plans for a future without me.

I asked my lawyer to review everything.

There were messages.

Bank records.

Emails.

And one document Lauren had apparently signed without telling me.

It stated that her brother had permission to remain in the property indefinitely.

She had no authority to make that agreement.

When I confronted her, she became angry.

“You’re really going to throw my family out after everything I’ve done?”

I looked at the black trash bags behind her.

“You threw me out first.”

She had nothing to say.

A few days later, her brother moved out.

Lauren and I separated soon afterward.

During the process, she kept insisting that I had changed after deployment.

Maybe she was right.

But not in the way she meant.
