I Pretended to Be Unconscious and Heard My Husband Say, “In Two Days, Everything Will Be Ours”—Then the Hospital Preserved His Thermos

When the fatigue became so severe I could barely stand, he drove me to

appointments.

When the abdominal pain started, he insisted I stop working.

Every morning, he filled the same stainless-steel thermos.

“Drink it while it’s hot.”

He would sit across from me until I finished.

Even after I was hospitalized, the thermos kept arriving.

Hannah had noticed something.

“My worst episodes happen after he visits?”

I asked.

“I can’t say that medically.”

She replied carefully.

“But I noticed you became much more nauseated yesterday after drinking

what he brought.”

That was enough to make me ask for my doctor.

Dr. Samantha Reynolds reviewed my results that morning.

My kidney and liver function were worsening.

The cause was unclear.

She was not willing to speculate.

When I mentioned the broth, her expression became serious.

“From now on, do not consume anything from outside until we understand

what is happening.”
