Teen Wore a Dress to His Best Friend’s Funeral – Family Nearly Had Him Removed Before He Reached the Microphone

“This is our son’s funeral.”

“I know.”

Daniel started to rise.

I caught his sleeve.

“Please, wait.”

Grief had left us exhausted, frightened, and painfully sensitive to anything unexpected.

We’d barely slept properly in more than two weeks.

And seeing Theo dressed so differently from everyone else felt like one more thing we couldn’t understand.

Then the officiant announced that Theo would deliver a tribute.

I’d almost forgotten he’d agreed to speak.

He stood and walked toward the microphone.

Every eye followed him.

When he finally began, his voice was barely steady.

“About six months ago, Jack and I were watching a terrible movie in his bedroom.”

A faint smile crossed his face.

“Jack insisted it was a masterpiece. It definitely wasn’t.”

A few of his classmates chuckled.

Theo continued.

“He’d just come home from another medical appointment. His parents weren’t there yet.”
