These feelings are valid.
Independence should not become another standard that women are expected to meet perfectly. A woman does not have to pretend that she enjoys every aspect of being single to demonstrate that she is strong.
Wanting companionship is a normal human desire.
If a woman wants a relationship, she can pursue one while continuing to protect her independence. She can
meet new people, join activities she genuinely enjoys, reconnect with friends, or explore dating when she feels ready.
If loneliness becomes persistent or begins affecting sleep, appetite, motivation, or daily functioning, talking with a mental health professional may help.
It can also be useful to examine what kind of connection is missing.
Does she want a romantic partner, a stronger friendship network, more community involvement, greater emotional intimacy, or a clearer sense of purpose?
Sometimes several needs overlap.
Understanding the specific source of loneliness can make it easier to take meaningful steps rather than assuming that finding a partner will solve everything.
