A partner can express what they like.
You can express what you like.
But neither person should treat preference as entitlement.
21. Your Preferences May Change Over Time
Sexual preferences aren’t necessarily permanent.
A couple’s preferred activities can change with age.
Pregnancy.
Recovery from surgery.
Injury.
Stress.
Parenthood.
Medication.
Menopause.
Changes in body confidence.
Changes in relationship dynamics.
All of these can influence comfort and desire.
So if your partner preferred one position five years ago and still prefers it today, that’s normal.
And if your preferences have changed, that’s normal too.
You don’t need to maintain the exact same sexual routine forever.
22. Physical Health Can Influence Sexual Position Preferences
As people age, physical considerations can become increasingly important.
Back pain.
Hip stiffness.
Knee problems.
Arthritis.
Reduced flexibility.
Muscle fatigue.
Pelvic discomfort.
Previous surgery.
These issues can make some positions uncomfortable.
A partner who repeatedly chooses a particular position may be unconsciously choosing the option that puts less strain on their body.
